Today, let’s look at English pronunciation.
Q: What do I need to do to have good English pronunciation?
A: To have good pronunciation, you need to:
- pronounce the sounds of English correctly
- use the correct stress in English words and sentences
- use the correct intonation
- link words together correctly when you speak.
It sounds like a lot! But over the next few months we will practice all of those points!?

Question: Can you hear the problems in the speakers pronunciation in this example? What are the problems? What tips would you give them to improve?

i dont know if im right but i think when they say next they didnt pronouce it correctly. the “off” was kind of open too i think.
the rest i think you can get what they say though you get that they are not native english speakers.
I can hear the bad pronunciation in the words “next corner” but it’s complicated to explain it technically what’s their problem. I just know that something ain’t ok.
Hi John,
It’s seems to me that they pronouce “net coner”, tips for their? I’m not in position to give tips, but I can say which is my problem. For me pronunce”words”,”jewellery
is difficult. In english there are words that have to be said with the tougue in different position we’re used to do(make?) speaking our native language, it’s like the sound stay into the mounth.we have to do(make?) tougue gymnastic.
I hope you’ll understand what I would say.
Bye bye
You are all correct, but you have missed the MAIN problem.
The problem they make that makes it really hard for a native speaker to understand them is NOT the small pieces of sounds in the words. It is not even how they pronounce the words.
It is something else. It has something to do with how they join the words together.
Can anyone guess?
This point is most important to good pronunciation!
