Can you fix the English?

This week’s English is from a sign is on a shop door.

   

Activity:  Does this English need fixing?

  

 

Write in the comments what you think would be the correct English for this sentence.

   

WEEKLY CHALLENGE:

   Hi John,
   I think, they should have written “inconvenience” or “trouble”
   “inconvenient” means uncomfortable

     Your changes are good!
     Inconvenient means “to trouble”
     Inconvenient is a noun
     Inconvenience is an adjective

   Dear John,

   The right sign should be ” The shop is closed until Monday the 3rd of March 09″
   “Sorry for the inconvenience.”

     Nearly correct Kemo.

     The correct answer is: “Sorry for any inconvenience”

     Also there is a spelling mistake. Can you find it?

     Nearly prefect Nafeesa, but you are missing the word ‘any’:

     “Sorry for any inconvenience”

   This week I am pretty sure about the answar and it should have written like this( We are closed until Monday 23th 2009)

     Actually I think what you wrote is good English.

     Usually we would use the word ‘any’:
     “Sorry for any inconvenience”
