Over the next few days I am going to share some jokes with you. Understanding jokes in another language can be very difficult. Usually jokes use both the language and the culture to tell a funny story.
Here is the first one…
JOKE 1
My wife sat down on the couch next to me as I was flipping channels.
She asked, “What’s on TV?”
I said, “Dust.” And then the fight started…
QUESTION: Do you get it? (Do you think it is funny?)
Why is this story funny?
Let me know what you think in the commets!

I dont understand what “Dust” mean in current context…
.
Nice day.
Honza
It was a really funny play of words.
I guess what you meant is that there was nothing worth watching on TV. While your better half might have felt a reproach in your words. Anyway I am sure she is an excellent housewife and cleans regularly the dust from the TV-set.
It wasn’t a good joke.
The man was lazy to speak to his wife about the program in the TV and he answered back: Dust.
His wife misunderstood it, but he didn’t want to say she is a bad housewife.

Honza – ‘dust’ means the fine dirt that is on things if you don’t wipe them regularly with a cloth. For example often old books, that have not been touched for a long time will have dust on them.
The joke here is because “What is on tv?” means – What program is being shown on the TV?
But the husband is talking about what is ‘on top’ of the TV.
Sorry you didn’t like the joke Lubor. Do you know any jokes?
Everyone! Share a joke!!
hi all
the joke is funny because the word you used is funny “dust”.
Hi Divya
Why do you think the word ‘dust’ is funny?
