Once you find him, you think, why didn’t I see him immediately?

Doctors say:

• If you find the man in 3 seconds, the right half of your brain is better developed than most people.
• If you find the man between 3 seconds and 1 minute, the right half of the brain is developed normally.
• If you find the man between 1 minute and 3 minutes, then the right half of your brain is functioning slowly and you need to eat more protein.
• If you have not found the man after 3 minutes, the advice is to look for more of this type of exercise to make that part of the brain stronger.

And, yes, the man is really there!!! Can you find him?

I remember when I first spent Valentine’s Day in Japan, I thought all the girl’s loved me, because they all gave me chocolate! In Western culture, we only give a gift to someone we love, such as a boyfriend or girlfriend! I soon found out (sadly!) – I was wrong! Japanese culture is different!

In the West, both boys and girls give gifts to someone they love on Valentine’s Day. We do not have White Day here.

The 13 February 2008 is a very important day in Australian history.
 
That is the day the Australian government finally said sorry to the Aboriginal people of Australia.

They said sorry for the treatment of many Aboriginial children who were taken from their parents between the years of 1883 – 1969.

Q: What happened?

A: When European people came to Australia, they felt sorry for the Aboriginal children. They wanted to make the children live the European lifestyle, because they thought it was a better, safer way to live. So they took Aboriginal children away from their families and put them into schools. They really thought they were doing the right thing – giving children clothes, food, a place to live and education.

But this was the wrong thing to do. Children lost their parents. Parents lost their children. The Aboriginal people lost their past. They also lost their future.

Many families were destroyed.

There is an important lesson here for all of us.

Sometimes, things we think are kind, are not kind at all.

We must always listen to other people, and learn from them.

We must never think we are better than people from other countries, or people who have different skin colours or cultures to our own.

Only when the countries of this world understands that we are all one people, will war end.

The world has: Australian people, Japanese people, Aboriginal people, Korean people, Chinese people, Iraqi people etc. They are all PEOPLE!

Love the people around you. Listen to them and make peace!

One evening a grandson was talking to his grandmother about current events.
The grandson asked his grandmother what she thought about the shootings at schools, the computer age, and just things in general.

  • “rock music” was your grandmother’s lullaby.
  • “Aids” were helpers in the Principal’s office,

We listened to our radios.If you saw anything with ‘Made in Japan ‘ on it, it was junk.

Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, and instant coffee were unheard of.

We had 5 &10-cent stores where you could actually buy things for 5 and 10 cents.

Ice-cream cones, phone calls, rides on a streetcar, and a Pepsi were all 5 cents.

And if you didn’t want to splurge, you could spend your 5 cents on enough stamps to mail 1 letter and 2 postcards.

You could buy a new car for $600, . . . but who could afford one?
Too bad, because petrol was 11 cents a litre.

No wonder people call us “old and confused” and say there is a generation gap… and how old do you think I am?

I bet you have a very old lady in mind…you are in for a shock!
